When you talk about raw passion and a real belief in a fishing product, then chances are the names Phil Alder and Bozos soft plastics would spring to mind. Phil’s bright red business card is scrawled with the tongue in cheek line, nobody laughs at my tackle. Well in all honesty, I can’t comment on Phil’s tackle as I’ve never seen it and don’t really want to. What I can make comment on is the outstanding range of Bozo soft plastics that Phil has good reason to be so passionate about. The Bozos range has caught a multitude of fish from Marlin to mullet and everything in between. Its list of conquests grows daily and it seems that big fish of many different species find these soft plastic offerings quite alluring.
Bozos Tackle swim tests all lures during the development stage, then carry out extensive field-testing to make sure you, the consumer are fishing with a quality product. Built tough to withstand real Aussie fish, these lures are now making strong inroads into cod country. As a plastic trailer on spinnerbaits, there are none better. Not only do they have an exceptional color range and life like action but they also handle the brutal punishment dished out by these giant fish. Never yet have I seen a large cod tear the tail from these plastics on the strike or during the fight, something that can’t be said for many other brands. The teeth on a large Murray cod while not long are needle sharp, yet they have little if any effect on the tough outer skin of these soft plastics. Bozos are garlic scented for extra drawing power: just one more plus in the overall appeal of these lures.
RangeThe Bozos range come both unrigged and pre rigged. The unrigged versions are perfect for rigging with a trailer hook on spinnerbaits and mumblers. Or if you prefer to drift them down amongst the snags on a light jig head or fish them totally without weight, they are open for these methods also. The pre- rigged range are set to go, with the 75mm Smelt Galaxia and Mullet ideal for trout redfin and golden perch just to name a few. The larger pre rigged 150ml mullet can be either cast, jigged or trolled for both cod and golden perch. These lures have a rattle inside which is great in dirty water and with realistic 3D eyes how could any predator resist such a life like elusion. The largest model in the range, the 400ml Thumper Grub is well named and sure to tempt large Murray cod when worked around the timber. Perhaps this is the tackle that Phil refers to on his card, in any case keep an eye out for this range of superb soft plastics from Bozos. This great range of lures is making a big impression on a wide range of very big fish.
